The Idea of PubForum was born in 2003 when I started to participate in Citrix Support Forums. The first PubForum was on 1 August 2003. Back then we could not really imagine that it will even grow as big as it is now. Since then over 250 different people, very most of them experts in SBC field have visited PubForum.
PubForum is different from other IT Conferences in that it is non commercial and since the day one was meant as a meeting place for ambitioned, community active SBC professionals. It is a great pleasure for me to enjoy their trust in the PubForum Idea and welcome at new PubForum Events.
PubForum doesn't have a home, but if, I would call it Dublin - the hometown of Guinness and so was the very first Logo of PubForum in form of a Guinness pint. And I finally made my dream come true - to have an IT Class in Guinness Storehouse! Yahhaaaaaa
Since PubForum is a non commercial event and unfortunately doesn’t have the budget to sponsor the traveling and expenses of presenters it is even more adorable that the Presenters take those cost on their own, to share their know how with the community. We always have great presenters - Francisco Alves, Michal Roth, Jeroen van de Kamp, Bernhard Tritsch, Simon Frost, Bob Janssen, Brian Madden, Chris Marks, Marc Freidhof,Rodney Medina, Ruben Spruijt, Greg Spata, Dennis Damen, Shawn Bass, Thomas Koetzing, Jack Chote, Hugo Navarro, Smart Access Central guys are just few names to mention from the big list of the great people who visited and presented at PubForum!
Big thanks to the Companies which supported PubForum through out the time - triCerat, Citrix, ConoScenza, QWISE, Login Consultants, AppSense, Real Enterprise Solutions, Brian Madden Company, Scapa Technologies Limited, Jetro Platforms, Visionapp and other.

I'm a
Microsoft Most Valued Professional in Terminal Services for three years now. Also, as recognition by Citrix Inc. i received the Citrix Technology Professional designation. There is only a bit more then 30 people holding any of it in the World. It is an big pleasure and responsibility for me to be listed as MVP and CTP, among the best people in the Industry. I believe though, there are a lot more of those, who deserve the recognition, but don’t have it yet. Curious? Visit PubForum, you will meet them yourself! Some of them are listed on this website in the PF Presenters section.
I have organized and led all the PubForum events since the very first one in Amsterdam in August 2003.
My current strong points are Microsoft Server Products including Windows Server 2008, 2003, MOM, Active Directory, Server Virtualization via VmWare and Microsoft Virtual Server &Hyper-V, Server Management, Infrastructure planning and optimisation, implementation of Microsoft Best Practicies, Terminal Services and of course Citrix. I started to work with Citrix Products in 1998, before I was very much into the Novell, Windows NT and Security world.
I like to share my knowledge and skills with peers and so I was as part of the "Ask the Experts" and MCT Proctoring Team at TechED's in Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Barcelona since 2004 up to date. My recent challenge were:
- being "ASK THE EXPERTS" team member on Windows 2008 at the worlds first Launch of Windows 2008 in Frankfurt, Germany with over 6 500 visitors February 19 - 21, 2008
- presenting the "Terminal Services in Windows 2008 R2 Server" @ Windows 2008 User's Group Ireland in May 20, 21 - Galway, Cork, Dublin, Belfast.
- Citrix Synergy 2008 Geek Speak in Houston, USA
- Citrix TechEDGE 2009 Geek Speak - Munich, Germany
- 50 seats Master Class on Windows Server 2008 Terminal Services in Guinness Storehouse Dublin in October, 2008
- Ask The Experts @TechED IT Pro in Barcelona an now also TechED 2009 Berlin! I love it!
- my very own Project RDS999.com - where I aim to teach 999 people within a year on the Windows 2008 R2 RDS and VDI Topic! Past events include locations like - Brussels, Stockholm, Frankfurt, Vienna, Dublin, Galway, Cork, Belfast. And more are to come soon!
I'm MCSE on NT, 2000 and 2003, MCTS:Enterprise in 2008 and also hold certifications from Citrix and Novell.
Being an MCT for about 9 years now I taught Students who live now all around the world from Americas to Australia - such a pleasure to see them every time and realise, that there is also my involvement that they are successful in their Job today!
In my spare time I love to travel, meet people from different cultures, languages, explore new places and spend time excelling in my job.

Pubforum for me means a public forum where everyone is equal, consultants, architects, industry analysts and vendors. Pubforum ofcourse is what you make of it, getting to know people requires you to let people meet you and get to know you. I have been to several Pubforums and i am very happy to be able to give something back and hopefully be able to help the rest of the PF-team deliver more great future pubforums.
From a community perspective i try to use whatever time i can attending public support forums like citrix support forums, support forums at www.brianmadden.com and others. I started my internet career with the nickname of LamerSmurf and it still keeps clinging to me. I have had the honor and pleasure of seeing my articles published at www.msterminalservices.org and www.brianmadden.com.
